What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) is an evidence based practice used to heal the emotional distress that results from trauma and disturbing life experiences.

Our brain is programmed to heal itself. EMDR capitalizes on this natural healing ability to target emotional and mental health issues that typically arise due to maladaptively processed experiences. When we work on reprocessing significant experiences from our past, we begin to see improvements in our present struggles.

The following can be treated with EMDR:

  • PTSD

  • Attachment Issues

  • Childhood Trauma

  • Disturbing Memories

  • Grief & Loss

  • Self-Esteem Issues

  • Performance Anxiety

  • Panic Attacks
