Hi, I’m Sol. It’s an honor to meet you!
I’m so glad you found your way here. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, curious, or unsure where to begin, you’re in the right place. Therapy here is about creating safety, honoring your story, and supporting your return to wholeness.
I’m Maria del Sol Córdova — I go by Sol — a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I’m Chicana, born to two Mexican immigrants, and my lived experience deeply shapes how I understand healing, identity, and belonging.
Like many first-generation children, I grew up balancing the pull to honor my family’s sacrifices with the search for who I was beneath expectations. For a long time, I felt my worth was tied to achievement. Over time, I began to see how these messages, along with my own experiences of pain and disconnection, shaped the way I related to myself.
This journey is why I do this work. I believe that worth isn’t something we earn, it’s something we’re born with. It’s always been there, even when life makes it hard to feel. I also hold deep respect for the strengths passed down through our culture like resilience, generosity, and a strong sense of community alongside the wounds shaped by systems our ancestors had to endure.
My story has taught me that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but about reconnecting with what’s already whole. That belief guides how I show up with clients, with curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person’s story.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and deeply relational. I believe healing happens in the presence of safety and connection, when you’re no longer alone with what you feel.
I draw primarily from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and EMDR, integrating mind and body to support deep emotional healing. In our work, we gently turn toward your emotional experience in the moment, noticing what your body is telling us and how your feelings make sense. Rather than trying to get rid of emotions, we explore their adaptive wisdom. We honor how they’ve tried to protect you and help you survive.
I’m active and attuned in sessions, offering warmth, presence, and curiosity. I follow your pace, invite all parts of you into the space, and help you learn that it’s okay to feel, even when emotions have felt overwhelming in the past. Through corrective emotional experiences, old beliefs like “I’m not enough,” “I’m too much,” or “I’m alone” can begin to soften, making room for self-compassion, connection, and a felt sense of wholeness.
Whether we’re processing trauma with EMDR, deepening emotional connection through AEDP-informed work, or healing in community through group therapy, my intention is the same: to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner strength and your capacity for change.

Folx I work with
I work with adults who are ready to explore themselves with honesty and care. People who may look “okay” on the outside, but carry a lot on the inside.
Many of the people I support are:
Healing from complex trauma, painful past experiences, or emotionally unsafe upbringings
Living with anxiety, self-doubt, or harsh inner criticism
Navigating life between cultures, identity, and belonging
Struggling with patterns in relationships or feeling disconnected from themselves
Wanting more than coping — seeking deep, lasting change
I especially enjoy working with adults who long to feel safer in their emotions and relationships. Adults who are curious about understanding themselves more deeply.
You don’t have to be in crisis to begin. You might simply feel that something isn’t quite right. You might have a sense that there’s more wholeness, connection, and ease possible for you. If that resonates, you’re in the right place.
