Frequently Asked Questions

What is individual therapy?

Individual therapy is a one-on-one, confidential space where you work with a licensed therapist to explore emotions, patterns, and life experiences. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, heal from past experiences, and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

What is group therapy?

Group therapy is a therapist-led space where people with shared experiences come together to heal through connection. It reduces isolation, builds belonging, and supports growth within a supportive community.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Therapy may be helpful if you’re feeling anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, or if you want deeper self-understanding and lasting change. Many people start therapy simply because something doesn’t feel quite right.

What is AEDP-informed therapy?

AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) is an attachment-focused, experiential approach to therapy. It emphasizes safety, emotional connection, and healing through relationship. AEDP-informed therapy helps you feel and process emotions in a supported way so that old patterns and painful beliefs can begin to transform.

How does EMDR therapy work?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing or traumatic memories. When memories remain “stuck,” they can trigger strong emotional or physical reactions in the present. EMDR helps those memories become less emotionally intense, allowing for greater calm, clarity, and choice.

What issues do you help with?

I work with adults navigating:

  • complex trauma or painful past experiences

  • anxiety and chronic stress

  • negative self-beliefs and self-criticism

  • attachment and relationship patterns

  • identity, belonging, and life between cultures

  • emotional overwhelm or disconnection

What are sessions like?

Sessions are warm, collaborative, and guided by your pace. I’m active and attuned in sessions, offering reflections and curiosity while prioritizing emotional safety. Many clients share that they feel seen, heard, and supported to explore parts of themselves they once avoided or judged.

How long does therapy take?

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Some people come for short-term support around a specific concern, while others choose longer-term work for deeper healing. We’ll regularly check in about your goals and pace to ensure therapy is meeting your needs.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I’m happy to provide a superbill if you’d like to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Please reach out if you have questions about fees or payment options.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, are charged the full session fee.

This policy helps honor the time set aside for you and allows space for other clients who may be waiting for an appointment.
